About Kwanza:

I was raised in Rome, in the multiethnical neighbourhood called Torpignattara. My mum is from Bologna, my father is an Afrobrazilian. I am a consultant in Diversity Management and inclusion with a special focus on antiracism, environmental justice and intersectionality, I am also co-founder and President of the cultural Association QuestaèRoma, created in 2013 by a group of young italians of color with the aim to erase any form of discrimination through culture and art. In 2021 I have joined the Advisory Board of Union of Justice, a european organization founded by Magic Magid focused on racial justice intersecting climate justice. I hold a bachelor degree in political science and international relations at Roma Tre University, and I am currently completing a Master in management of cultural diversity at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. Recently, I have been teaching about Black Italy at the previous three editions of the Black Europe Summer School in Amsterdam, with doc Camilla Hawthorne and Angelica Pesarini, and I am collaborating with several Universities and Insititutions to bring a multiethnical perspective on Italian contemporary society.
