Leonardo earned his doctorate and master's degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He obtained his bachelor's degree from Universidad de Córdoba in Colombia. His secondary field is digital technology, and he holds a graduate certificate in Digital Globe provided by a partnership between the Trulaske College of Business and the Missouri School of Journalism. He currently teaches Spanish in the School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures. He has been teaching languages for more than thirteen years. His dissertation focuses on the impact of adaptive digital narrative in Hispanic literature. His master’s thesis focused on the impact of digital platforms on language teaching and learning. His previous research focused on contextualized and cultural materials for language learners.
