A San Antonio, Texas native, Verónica obtained her BA in Spanish from the University of the Incarnate Word and her MA in Spanish from the University of Texas in San Antonio where she researched 20th and 21st Mexican literature. She studied screenwriting at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica in Mexico City. Pérez-Picasso is a doctoral candidate at the University of Missouri, and her dissertation looks at motherhood and infertility in the novel, the screenplay, and the movie Otilia Rauda.
Verónica has over 20 years of experience teaching Spanish and English in the US and Mexico. She is a member of the Latinx Graduate and Professional Network (LGPN), MU Voz Latina, and NCERA-216. Pérez-Picasso has co-lead the Global Service in Costa Rica program through the MU Office of Service Learning. She serves as the Coordinator of the Cambio Center at MU.
