Kwanza Musi Dos Santos founded and leads the organization, Questae'Roma/This is Rome, a group of 'new Italians' who advocate for representation, civil rights, and education in today's Italy. Her work is discussed in the course, ITAL3440/BL_STU3004, “Black Italy: The Politics and History of Race in Contemporary Italy” and she contributed a chapter on Black Rome to Mapping Black Europe: Monuments, Markers, and Memories (2023). Kwanza will visit as a guest lecturer to meet with students in the “Black Italy” course and then present a lecture open to the public on her organization's work and advocacy efforts in Italy. Faculty and students are invited to attend.
