Driving Informed Policy
Our Mission
The Interdisciplinary Migration Studies Institute (IMSI) connects scholars, students, and community members who seek to understand and engage productively with migration and displacement. We welcome all migration scholars and are primarily dedicated to exploring what the humanities bring to studying migration.
Centering the human experiences and stories of migration enables us to highlight problems and policies, the unique capacities of immigrants and displaced peoples, and the experience of migration itself.

Confluence
April 24-26, 2025
This conference takes the geographical metaphor of riverway confluence as a point of departure for examining key themes and patterns affecting migration to and from Missouri — a key convergence point for migration in the past and present.
