Gilman funds up to $5,000 for Pell Grant recipients to study abroad! Students applying this fall can use the money for international study or internships that begin as soon as this winter or as late as next fall. There are:
No GPA minimums
No length requirements
No letters of recommendation
If a student can express why studying abroad is important to them and how it will help them in their future, they should apply! We’re holding three Gilman 101 information sessions on Tuesday, Sept. 1, where students can learn more about the scholarship and how to apply.
The sessions will occur at 10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m.
If you can’t make a Gilman 101 session but want to apply, you can still self-enroll in our Gilman Canvas course. There, you will find a recording of the Gilman 101 information session, video tutorials about the application essays, and other advising resources. More information and the enrollment link will be on our website.
Students don’t have to work with an adviser when applying for Gilman, but over the past three years, applicants who engaged with our advising were 82% more likely to receive the award than those who didn’t.
