French and Francophone Studies in Rennes

Discover the magic of summer in Rennes! Immerse yourself in French culture, breathtaking historic architecture and lively street scenes while enhancing your language skills. Led by Dr. Scott Taylor, you’ll spend the first week exploring the charm of Brittany’s capital through cultural sites, museums, food tastings and excursions in the region. Then you’ll spend three weeks focusing on language study — take a French language course at your level taught by a local instructor. Earn six credits in French on this transformative program that offers a perfect blend of education, adventure and cultural discovery.

Jump into Sicily's past as you explore the cultures that intersected on this beautiful island and apply that to the current diversity of people and culture that make this area of Italy unique. Led by Dr. Carla Cornette, this second 8-week spring course concludes with two weeks in Sicily where you will explore the food, art, language, industry, religion and traditions that can be traced back to Arab, Greek, Spanish and peninsular Italian influences.

Program highlights include:

• Two guided boat tours along eastern coast of Sicily and Favignana.
• Full day hiking excursion on Mount Etna, Europe’s most active volcano.
• Experience nine UNESCO World Heritage sites around the island, including Valley of the Temples and Villa Romana del Casale.
• Two nights on Favignana island, where “The Odyssey” (2026) was just filmed.

Spanish Language and Andean Society 

Duration: 4 Weeks

Fully immerse yourself in Lima for three weeks before exploring Cusco for a week, all while improving your Spanish language skills and experiencing life in Peru. Choose from three different course tracks to earn a total of six upper-level Spanish credits, including courses like Advanced Spanish Conversation, Andean Civilization and Culture, and Introduction to Hispanic Literature. Working on a Spanish minor? Led by Dr. Ivan Reyna, this program is a great way to see the world while completing required courses.

This program features multiple excursions, including a bucket list-worthy visit to Machu Picchu and the following sites:
