Undergraduate Programs

At MU, there are several ways for students to add a Chinese Studies emphasis to their degree program. Students can pursue a minor in Chinese Studies or East Asian Studies. They also can combine an international studies or East Asian degree with an East Asian area emphasis.

Courses

Our courses introduce students to the dynamics of American and Chinese cross-cultural communication. Our students gain increased competency in their understanding of the language and literature which helps them negotiate and manage positive interactions as they prepare for exciting careers.

Get involved

Find Your Space

There are a variety of China-related cultural activities and East Asian related organizations on and off campus. Advance your understanding of the Chinese language and culture by becoming involved in programs including the Asian American Association, Chinese Language and Culture Association, and Taiwanese Student Association. You can also refine your communication skills by serving as a mentor in programs such as the Conversation Partner Program and Collegiate Ambassador Program. You’ll find additional opportunities within the community including the Columbia Friends of China and Columbia Chinese Language School.

STUDY ABROAD
