Hannah Kim, a senior majoring in International Studies and currently taking the Advanced Korean class, received an Honorable Mention Award (3rd place) in the Advanced division at the 7th Midwest Korean Speech Contest, hosted by the Korean Consulate in Chicago on April 4, 2026.

The contest featured 40 students from 19 different schools, with 14 students competing in Hannah’s division. In her speech, Hannah shared her journey of finding her identity as a Korean American. She was awarded a $300 scholarship for her achievement.
