On Tuesday, September 12th, a large audience attended a screening of "Zurbano and His Racial Consciousness," a documentary by Prof. Juanamaria Cordones-Cook. The film presents a testimonial by Roberto Zurbano Torres (Cuba, 1965), a prominent cultural critic and literary scholar who has been an activist and a leading scholar on racial issues.
After the screening, a lively Q&A session allowed attendees to speak with Zurbano about his ideas, activities, and collaborations as these were showcased in the film. Subsequently, Professor Cordones-Cook and graduate students ate dinner with Zurbano, and over a stimulating four-hour conversation were able to hear about his work in even greater depth.
