Faculty member Carla Cornette completed an intensive Italian training entitled "Black Europe Summer School: Interrogating Citizenship, Race, and Ethnic Relations." 

During the two-week symposium, Carla met scholars from all over the world who were working on aspects of Black Europe from diverse disciplinary perspectives, like history, critical race studies, economics, sociology, geography, literature and film. She was able to present her own work on developing a curriculum on Black Italy at MU.
