On October 17th, 2026, Yuanyuan (Maggie) Gu, a PhD student in SISLT (School of Information Science and Learning Technologies in the College of Education and Human Development) will be presenting "Ethics as the Foundation: An Exploratory Mixed-Methods Study of Chinese Language Teachers' AI-TPACK (Artificial Intelligences - Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Framework)". Co-authored by Spanish Faculty Dawn Heston, with Henry Ruan and Hongchen Wu, Gu will share this presentation at the New England Chinese Language Teachers Association (NECLTA) International Conference on Learning and Teaching Chinese Language and Culture.
Gu (right) is an Instructional Strategist with over 10 years of experience. Her research primarily focuses on developing AI-enhanced virtual training simulations to support language, healthcare, and STEM education. As someone with a bilingual background in Mandarin Chinese and English, her experience in ESL shapes her research and work methods.

The NECLTA is a nonprofit academic organization committed to advancing and supporting Chinese language teaching at all education levels in New England. This year will mark the 15th Annual International Conference of the NECLTA and will be hosted by Yale University. This year, the conference will focus on how the development of Artificial Language technologies have and will impact and transform language education, and how educators can meet the demands of this novel digital landscape.
